GIVE $7.77
As the year/decade drew to a close last week, we were reminded of the accomplishments of our past and now look toward the goals of our future.
Many of us have had much to be thankful for. Several were grateful for the likes of you. Over the years, our Atlanta Tri Delta sisterhood has been able to contribute over $1.5 million toward helping find a cure for children’s cancer through our annual Care Affair. Christina Karem, Abby Smith and others are just some of the gracious recipients that benefit from our donations to CURE Childhood Cancer.
However, it is now more than ever that our support is needed. As it is with many organizations, these economic times have taken their toll. Funding is down. As a result, we see delays of medical advancements which would keep this horrible disease at bay. We know there are many worthy charities for which you give and for that we do not seek much.
In the spirit of our Care Affair “Casino Night” which is to be held Saturday, April 17th at the Atlanta History Center, we ask that you simply give $7.77. Think of all the goals we could accomplish in this next year/decade if we all gave! Remember, your support not only helps those children in our own state, but also shows the country how strong our alumni can be.
In the words of Sarah Ida Shaw: "The glory of life is to give, not to get; to love, not to be loved; to serve, not to be served."
